Charles Lachman  received his PhD in East Asian Studies at the University of Toronto. He taught at Dartmouth College for six years and also served as the curator of the Hood Museum. He has been teaching in the art history department at the University of Oregon since 1992 and is the curator of the Asian Art Collection at the University’s Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art.

Hattie Mae Nixon has been a volunteer at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art since 1973. She gives tours as well as does research for the museum. She has lived in Eugene since 1950. Her husband taught in the School of Art and Architecture and through the faculty there Nixon learned about Warner.

Ce Rosenow is a visiting assistant professor of literature in the Robert D. Clark Honors College at the University of Oregon. She is interested in literary and cultural exchange between 19th and early 20th century America and Japan and it was through her research on this topic that she first encountered Warner’s collection.

Bryna Goodman is a Professor of History at the University of Oregon. She specializes in Chinese society, urban history, and gender, and is the author of Native Place, City and Nation: Regional Identities and Organization in Shanghai, 1853-1927.
