Notable People
Normandy Helmer is an employee of the University of Oregon
and works at the Special Collections department of the Knight Library.
She has a vast knowledge an a lot of experience with the story of Moorhouse
and the affect these photographs have had on Native culture and tradition.
Les Minthorne is a tribal elder with the Cayuse who has a very
independent and skeptical view of these photographs. His voice of experience,
and his touching quotes summarize everything we wanted to say in this
documentary, but had no place in doing so.
Mitzi Rodriguez had a grandmother photographed by Moorhouse—she
still owns the dress her grandmother was photographed in, and cherishes
the memories and photographs she has to hold onto.
Thomas Morningowl is very much a voice of his time. He is
a prominent figure on the reservation. He provided a lot of great quotes
that allow viewers to be optimistic and draw what they can from the
photographs.
